Since the inception of the Jim Ovia Undergraduate Scholarship program in October 2010, over 1500 beneficiaries have gained from the over 100 million naira invested by Jim Ovia into the scheme. Part of the scholarship’s goal is to “create a network of future leaders within Nigeria who can compete globally with their peers, bring new ideas, and creativity, and are committed to improving the lives and circumstances of people in their respective communities.”

To be eligible for the scholarship
- The applicant must be a citizen of Nigeria.
- The applicant must be currently or potentially enrolled in a program in an accredited tertiary institution in Nigeria.
- The applicant must be able to demonstrate academic and leadership prowess.
- The applicant must have a strong passion for positively contributing to the society.

Some of the benefits of the scholarship include
- Full tuition
- Accommodation
- Annual stipend of 150,000 naira.
- It is expected that scholars of the program will become future Nigerian leaders and contribute to addressing the several challenges confronting Nigeria in the areas of health, finance, technology, and more.
