Successful candidates at the Economist Foreign Internship Program will be assigned challenging and exciting tasks right away.

To be eligible for the program

  • The application for the Economist Foreign Internship Program is open to everyone regardless of background, citizenship, or any characteristics unrelated to the job.
  • The applicant should have an interest in economics, but this is not essential.
  • Previous experience is not necessary in the application process.

  • It is a paid internship program.
  • It is an opportunity for overseas-based economic writers to work in an international environment as the internship is London-based.

To Apply

  • The applicant should send a 600-word unpublished article for publication in The Economist and a CV and cover letter to foreignintern@economist.com.
  • The article sent by an applicant is the most important part of the application.
