  The Centre for Research in the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities (CRASSH) at the University of Cambridge is inviting applications for the British Academy International Fellowship scheme.

The British Academy International Fellowship is designed to “attract and retain emerging talent in the UK and build a globally connected, mobile research and innovation workforce.”

The main objectives of the program include:

Attracting international early-career researchers to the United Kingdom to establish and conduct their research.
  • Promoting and supporting early-career researchers towards pursuing innovative and high-quality research.
  • Providing opportunities for early-career researchers to acquire and transfer new skills and knowledge gained from the program through training and career development.
  • It is a platform aimed at promoting and fostering long-term relationships through networking opportunities and the International Fellowship alumni program.

To be considered eligible for the program:

  • The applicant must currently hold a PhD or be in the final stages of their PhD, which should end before the commencement of the fellowship.
  • The applicant should not have more than seven years of postdoctoral experience at the time of application (discounting career breaks but including teaching experience and/or time spent in industry).
  • You must be working outside the United Kingdom.
  • You must not hold UK citizenship.
  • The applicant must be excellent in oral and written English.
  • Your research proposal must be clearly defined and mutually beneficial upon terms agreed with a UK host researcher.

Some of the benefits of the program include:

  • It offers two-year support, and the award is at 80% FEC.
  • Applicants are opportune to apply for a research fund of up to £12,000 and relocation costs of up to £8,000.

The application documents include:

  • A two-page CV, including the dates on which you had your PhD viva and on which you were awarded the PhD.
  • A list of publications (not exceeding one side).
  • A completed internal selection form.
  • The name and contact details of one referee, preferably based in the UK, who is not your mentor or PhD supervisor.
