  Factor E Ventures has launched the Post-Harvest Loss Innovation Prize to help smallholder farmers in Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia prevent post-harvest loss. This initiative is in partnership with Shell Foundation, FCDO, ISF Advisors, MicroSave Consulting (MSC), and AndMore Associates.

Sadly, one-third of all food produced globally is lost or wasted before getting to customers due to a lack of reliable energy sources. This reduces small farmers’ income and decreases output for general consumption.

The Post-Harvest Loss Innovation Prize is committed to uncovering tech solutions that are capable of reducing post-harvest losses for small farmers.

To be eligible for the program:

  • Application is open to every entity, including startups, non-profit organizations, universities, or for-profit companies.
  • Your tech solution must be designed towards reducing post-harvest losses for farmers.
