The American Association for the Advancement of Science exposes “scientists, decision-makers to science diplomacy concepts, explore key contemporary international policy issues relating to science, technology, environment and health, and build a skillset to allow for careers at the intersection of science and diplomacy.”

The program is scheduled to be held from July 21-24, 2025, in Trieste, Italy.
Requirements for application:
The “participant pair” will include: Participant 1: An Early Career Scientist (ECS) aged 40 or below must hold a PhD degree with research that has international policymaking implications and applications.Register to attend the CN Business Mixer
Participant 2: a Decision Maker (DM) from the policymaking field, currently working on matters related to science, technology, and innovation. There is no age restriction for the decision-maker co-applicant nor the Ph.D. requirement. However, this person should belong to one of the following categories related to policymaking: – A policymaker. – A diplomat. – Civil servant. – A representative of a research funding institution. – Staff or expert working for an international (e.g., UN) organization.
