The Mo Ibrahim Foundation Academy Fellowship is an opportunity for candidates in the early to mid-stage of their careers to spend ten months at Chatham House and work on research of their choice. Interns will become part of the core work of the Institute develop their skills through the leadership program and further their professional network in the field of international affairs.

To be considered eligible for the program:
- The program is open to citizens of African countries.
- Applicants who hold dual nationality in any African country can apply.
- The applicant must have completed a BA degree or its equivalent and be experienced in conducting research.
- The applicant should be in the early to mid-career stage in one of the following fields: NGO, academia, business, civil society, government departments, or the media.
- An applicant must also possess knowledge of and have an interest in international affairs, their chosen research area, and the mission of Chatham House.
- There is no age restriction.
- The applicant must be willing to commit to the ten-month period at Chatham House, where they will be based between October 2025 and July 2026. Hybrid working is also possible.

Some of the benefits of the program include:
- Fellows will receive a competitive monthly stipend of £2,565 to cover their London living expenses, such as accommodation, utilities, food, and transport.
- Travel and relocation costs, including visa fees, will be fully covered.
- Expenses for the UK’s immigration health surcharge will be fully covered except for dental/optical care and prescriptions.
- Provision will be made for research expenses related to fieldwork, outreach, publications, and events.
- After the program, you will benefit from the academic faculty and alumni and gain a five-year membership to Chatham House.
