In Nigeria, technological advancement has led many youths to venture into IT, design, and data science. The downside, however, is that there is a lack of job opportunities for techies in these fields, in the country. This has forced many to seek employment abroad. WeJapa was set up to provide techies with access to lucrative jobs abroad. The app was launched on April 27, 2020.

How to use WeJapa
Download WeJapa from Google Play store, sign up by clicking on the ‘get started’ button at the bottom-right corner of the last welcome page.
To register, you have to provide your full name, phone number, email, and select your experience level. Next, you must provide a URL to your website, Github, or a portfolio, and a Drive or Dropbox link to your resume. You can also include your StackOverflow link.
You must then enter your password and tick the confirmation box to agree with the terms and conditions. After which you are ushered into the homepage of your new account.
You have to wait a period of about 6 to 12 days before your account is accredited and accepted. At the end of this process, you receive an email confirming that your sign-up is complete. This indicates that you can now start applying for jobs.

WeJapa is replete with a variety of jobs from foreign brands, in need of professionals in Africa. The startup boasts a substantial amount of both remote and on-site jobs.
It provides users with access to job vacancies that suit them based on their personal experiences, to increase their chances of gaining employment, and allows them to monitor their application progress.
WeJapa is a goldmine for African developers looking to monetise their skills and advance their careers. So far, the app has been well received, with over 1000 downloads within 2 days of its launch. If it keeps up the pace it has started with, it will succeed in connecting a lot of young developers to their dream jobs.
