From passengers being crammed up like sardines in a never-ending stream of traffic congestion to having to fight for change with bus conductors, and having to come to terms with unbearable fish smells, so many unimaginable things occur in the molue. It’s no surprise, therefore, that more innovators are turning to technology to fix the traffic issues in Lagos. One tech-driven solution worthy of note is Plentywaka. PlentyWaka is a bus-hailing solution aimed at making public transportation more bearable and accessible to the Lagos populace. Since its launch in 2019, PlentyWaka has come a long way, having raised a $300,000 pre-seed funding round, completing 300,000 rides, and rolling out a B2C logistics platform, all in the same year.

Meet The App

Home | Plentywaka PlantyWaka can easily be installed from Google Play Store or Apple’s App Store. Once installed, you’d be required to sign up with your phone number with which you would receive a shortcode to verify your account. After registering, you can book your first ride by specifying your pick-up bus stop, your drop-off location, and your preferred number of seats. A bus arrives at your pick-up bus stop within three minutes, you confirm your ride details with the bus conductor, and your journey begins. PlentyWaka aims for its buses to be everything that Lagos molues are not. With comfy seats, an air-conditioned environment, and space, passengers get to enjoy transport service relative to that of developed countries.
