Despite the advancements that have taken place in the banking and financial sectors around the world, Nigeria still has a large number of unbanked individuals who rely heavily on cash. Thanks to the introduction of some indigenous Fintech solutions in recent years, this problem has been mitigated to some extent. One of these is Paga, a mobile payments service which enables Nigerians to make seamless payments wherever they are.
Since its launch in 2009, Paga has made great strides in its efforts to promote financial inclusion in Nigeria. It has introduced mobile money and digital financial services through its army of agents around the country, particularly to the rural areas that comprise a large majority of unbanked Nigerians. In 2018, it released its mobile app in a bid to streamline its services to focus mainly on simple payment methods that do not involve all the complexities involved in the typical banking system.
Meet The App
One attribute that makes Paga stand out is its use of high-quality, visually appealing images. This, aside from its high functionality, is one of the features you would observe at a glance. After downloading and launching Paga, you will be required to create an account using your email address, Facebook account, or a short code *242# which may have been earlier provided to you by Paga.
Once you’ve registered on the app, here are things you will be able to do:
Send Or Receive Money From Someone Whether They Have A Paga Account Or Not
This means that the Paga mobile app makes it possible for you to send, receive, and request money from any user as long as you have their email address and phone number.
Link Your Paga Account To Your Bank Account
With Paga, you can effectively manage bank account/accounts and multiple master cards. All you have to do is link them to your Paga account and you’re good to go.
Request Money With JustPaga.Me
JustPaga.Me is a customised link on the Paga app that lets you request money from anyone. All the person has to do is access the JustPaga.Me page where they can pay you with their Paga account, debit card, or direct bank debit.
Getting The App
Paga is available on the Google Playstore at a downloadable size of 14 MB and is compatible Android devices from 4.4 and above. It is also available on the App Store for iOS users.
