Bike-hailing services have become a thing in Nigeria thanks to the fast and portable nature of Okadas and how efficient they are at beating traffic. Indeed, anyone can easily order for the closest Okada rides around them and be at their destinations within minutes. To add to the few number of bike-hailing services already existing in Nigeria, Opera, the behemoth browser market, has set out to include its own service to the list. After months of being tested and packaged to suit the Nigerian audience, ORide was released recently and now boasts to be a variable solution to the problems that result from traffic congestion in Nigeria.

How To Use The ORide App

ORIDE operates through OPay, a fintech platform and Opera’s flagship digital service in Nigeria. After a quick download and installation of the ORide app from Google Play store, the first step a user is required to take is to register on the OPay platform filling in details like phone number, name, and email. Thereafter, they are required to set up their security pin which will be used anytime they want to sign in or make a payment on the app. OPay then sends them an email to confirm their email address and help secure their account.

Once on the homepage of the platform, a user can select the “Take a ride” icon among the list of included services such as electricity, airtime, betting and mobile data. This leads them to the ORide platform which immediately gives them access to coupons to access free rides as high as N2530.

Booking a ride on ORide is similar to any other ride-hailing app users have ever come across. To request a ride, a user is expected to choose the starting and end points of his or her planned journey. Once those details have been entered, the user is then expected to click on “request a ride” and the estimated cost and distance of the journey pops up on the screen. As a pioneer user, the discount coupon you’re entitled to is displayed on the screen and ORide then goes ahead to deduct the discounted amount of money from your OPay wallet. Your ORide rider arrives within a few minutes and off you go!

Getting The App

The ORide app is available on Google Plays store at a downloadable size of 15 MB and requires Android versions form 5.0 and above. It has over 100,000 installs and has a decent rating on Play store. You can download it by clicking on the link below:
