For many people who want to lose weight, there are a thousand and one apps that can help them on their weight loss journeys. However, there is hardly any app that is tailor-made for the Nigerian audience. This makes it difficult for them to track their fitness progress based on factors like the Nigerian diet as opposed to foreign ones. This is where Askdamz comes in.
Askdamz was founded by Ademola “Askdamz” Ladejobi, a UK certified personal nutritionist with a diploma in nutrition. She dumped her law degree to pursue a career in weight-loss four years ago. Today, she has coached thousands of people in 70 countries across the world.
She founded the Askdamz app to cater to the Nigeria audience by providing them with useful tips and information to help them track their weight loss progress. The app is the first of its kind, boasting features such as step counter to count your steps and a calorie counter to check different types of Nigeria foods. This makes the app quite an innovative one as no other app has features for tracking Nigeria foods such as egusi, elubo, eba and so on.
Since intermittent fasting has also become a thing in the fitness community, Askdamz provides users with a fasting tracker that allows them to choose daily fasting methods. Other features on the app include a sleep tracker, BMI tracker, water tracker, and a blog that provides information on wellness, health, food, and nutrition. There are different packages so users can choose according to their fitness goals. Users also get the opportunity to place ads on the app and even do it for free once they have registered.
Askdamz has an academy that offers various courses to those who want to delve into the world of fitness and teach others how to be fit and healthy. This will lead to not only a health-conscious populace but also more job creation. After registering on the wellness institute and completing a course, users become Askdamz certified. So far, Askdamz has launched about 19 courses.
