The skill necessary to develop, deploy and maintain Android apps has recently become a highly sought after skill. With well over 1.4 billion Android users worldwide, business owners have come to view having an Android app for their business as quite important especially in ensuring quality service delivery to their customers.

Andela in partnership with Google and Udacity is seeking to help aspiring technologist in Nigeria who wish to learn how to develop Android apps begin their journey into becoming Android developers.

Andela with a vision to connect talent to opportunity is making available Android development courses to talented aspiring technologists across Nigeria.

The Andela Android Learning Community (ALC) program will run on two independent tracks. One for beginners with little or no prior programming experience and for intermediate learners who have at least 1-2 years prior Android development experience.

To be able to participate you should have a passion for technology, have access to a laptop and a smartphone (optional) and you’re willing to commit 10+ hours every week to learning how to build Android apps. Application for the program will run from 30th January to 24th February 2017 for the beginners and 30th January to 17th February 2017 for the intermediate learners.

  • Thanks for the post. I did apply but have not heard anything from them anymore. It seems it said it was commencing mid february or so. Do you have any idea please? Thank you.


    • Check your email. You should have received an email to take the assessment test unless you entered an invalid email address when applying. If that is the case, sorry, because application is closed now.


  • I applied and took the assessment test – waiting to know if I’ll be among those selected.

    For those who haven’t taken the test, it has been extended to Wednesday, 15th March, 2017.
