Ahead of the Nigerian Entertainment Industry Health Insurance Convention which will kick off the insurance cover being designed for the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) for the entertainment industry, more entertainment stakeholders have thrown their weight behind the project.
Many have described the scheme as a timely event following several public pleas to raise funds for medical treatment for sick entertainment practitioners.
Some of the stakeholders currently on the advisory board are the acclaimed king of comedy in Nigeria- Ali Baba, Storm 360 founder-Obi Asika, leading gospel artiste- Sammie Okposo, Chairman of Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON)- Mr Tony Okoroji, A-list comedian-Julius Agwu, Actors Guild of Nigeria President, Ibinabo Fiberesima, CEO of Chocolate City- Audu Maikori, Founder of Beat FM, Chris Ubosi, Founder of Kennis Music- Kenny Ogungbe, CEO of Now Muzik and 2Face Idibia’s manager- Efe Omorogbe, CEO of List Entertainment and D’Banj’s manager- Sunday Are.
Others are; founder and CEO of Dicotyledon- Tony ‘Don T’ Anifite, Veteran actor and leader- Jide Kosoko, Veteran Disc Jockey- DJ Jimmy Jatt, CEO of Soforte- Gbenga George, Veteran entertainment services provider- Edi Lawani, founder of Nigeria Music Video Awards, Cally Ikpe, founder of Headies awards- Ayo Animashaun and experienced artistes business manager- Tony Nwakalor and several others.
The convention, Nigerian Entertainment Industry Lecture Series (NEILS) is in partnership with the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), Lagos State Ministry of Health and Nigeria Medical Association is billed to hold on July 22nd, 2014 at the Grand Ball Room of Eko Hotel & Suites in Lagos.
