Nigerian international, Alex Iwobi, is now Nigeria’s most expensive footballer after completing his move from Arsenal FC to Everton FC on English summer transfer deadline day, August 8, 2019.
Iwobi’s move to the Toffees mean he has overtaken fellow compatriot, Kelechi Iheanacho, who was formerly Nigeria’s most expensive player after a €27.7 million move from Manchester City to Leicester City in 2017. The deal for the Hale End Academy product is believed to be around £35m (€37.9m).
Iwobi, 23, had a decent outing during his debut African Cup Of Nations in Egypt and is expected to team up with his new club mates as preparation for the 2019/2020 English Premier League season hit top gear.
