Nigerian forward Junior Ajayi was on target for Ahly on Saturday when Wydad Casablanca emerged champions of the 2017 CAF Champions League after defeating Al Ahly 1:0 in the second leg of the final in Morocco. Their win against the Egyptian giants makes it the second time in their history to take the title since 1992. After the first leg of the finals ended in in a 1:1 stalemate in Alexandre, Wydad proved the superior team as they edged Ahly 1:0 in the second leg with a goal from Walid El Karti in the 69th minute to win the title with a 2:1 aggregate. Wydad will represent Africa at the FIFA Club World Cup in December this year. Anthony Nwakaeme was also on target for away Hapoel Beer Sheva, as they edged Maccabi Petach Tikva 2:0 in the Israeli Super League (first division) on Sunday. Ben Sahar in the 60th minute put in a goal to place Hapoel in the lead. In the 77th minute, Nwakaeme doubled Hapoel’s lead with another goal to end the game 2:0. Nwakaeme has featured seven times for Hapoel and has scored in each of his last three league appearances with a total of four goals this season. The win has placed Hapoel in the third position on the 14-team Israeli league table with 20 points and a game to go, having played a total of nine games. Sylvester Igboun was on target for UFA as they lost 3:1 away to Spartak Moscow in the Russian top flight. Igboun scored the opener in the 10th minute for UFA but Fernando equalised for Spartak in the 37th minute. In the second half, Spartak took the lead as Quincy Promes scored in the 63rd minute and Luiz Adriano put in the third goal in the 79th minute to end the game 3:1 for Spartak.
