The program provides outstanding career pathways for talented emerging professionals who embody the values of future development specialists. Its strategic objectives include:

The initiative seeks high-calibre young professionals with exceptional potential and deep commitment to Africa’s development and transformation. It provides remarkable career prospects for accomplished individuals with impressive academic and professional backgrounds to contribute meaningfully to the continent’s development and transformation. The Bank seeks to recruit highly qualified and driven professionals from its member nations for fulfilling and productive careers. The Young Professionals Program enables the Bank to maintain continuity and excellence in executing its work programs and delivering policy guidance and services to Regional Member Countries.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must satisfy these minimum qualifications:
- Citizenship of an African Development Bank member country.
- Age 32 or under as of November 30, 2025.
- Master’s degree in a field relevant to the Bank’s operations, with exceptional academic records.
- Minimum of 3 years post-graduate professional experience in fields aligned with the Bank’s Ten-Year Strategy and Four Cardinal Points.
- Practical experience on the African continent or in other developing regions.
- Demonstrated commitment to Africa’s development.
- Ability to share knowledge, provide coaching, and collaborate effectively in teams while demonstrating strong adaptability in diverse settings.
- Competencies in teamwork, negotiation, client focus, communication, strategic thinking, leadership, and project management.
- Robust analytical and reporting abilities, entrepreneurial spirit, results-driven approach, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong business understanding and innovative thinking.
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal) in English or French, ideally with working proficiency in the other language.
- Capability to function in digital environments and adapt to evolving technology.
- Readiness to work and reside in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire (Bank Headquarters) and any other location where the Bank requires services.
- Expertise in standard MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with SAP systems is beneficial.
- Availability for continental travel as needed.
