The Nigeria Volleyball Federation has concluded preparations to host the 2019 Africa Senior Men and Women Nations Beach Volleyball Cup from April 21, through April 28, at Jabi Lake Park, Abuja.
The President of the NVF and the Chairman of Nigeria Beach Volleyball, Musa Nimrod, said the country accepted the hosting rights for the championship due to the successes recorded by Nigerian teams at the continental volleyball competition.
Nimrod also added that the federation has improved its plans to ensure a successful hosting of the tournament.
“I want to tell the world that all is set for Nigeria to host the Africa Nations Beach Volleyball Cup Seniors for both men and women. It is also my joy to see Nigeria host an Africa championship because the country has been consistent in the beach volleyball for over a decade.
“Last year, the country hosted the U-21 Africa Men’s Championship and we got good commendation from CAVB for our organisation and attitude towards the developmental programs. This time around, we will not let the African body down.”
— Nimrod
The NVF boss extended his gratitude to the African Volleyball Confederation President, Dr. Amr Elwani, for his continued support to the growth of Volleyball in Nigeria, while also assuring the CAVB of Nigeria’s commitment to the success of the volleyball championship.
