I like options, and there are a lot of good movies to see in cinemas this week. Some movies, like The Lion King, are so good they’ve been showing in cinemas for the past 3 weeks. Some of them have been screening since the beginning of the month, but you certainly haven’t seen them all. Here’s a quick summary of the Nollywood films showing in cinemas this weekend.
For Old Times Sake
Andrew is a dance instructor struggling to get by. A new student, Catherine, joins his class to learn how to dance. A kind of relationship develops between Andrew and Catherine, and things become even more complicated when Catherine’s husband approaches Andrew with a very strange offer. For Old Times Sake is not your typical romantic comedy. The story is dramatic and intriguing. For Old Times Sake is a good film to watch this weekend if you’re looking for something serious and touching to watch. Eucharia Anunobi, Anthony Manjaro, Chris Okaugbe and a few others appear in this film. The director of the film, Uru Eke, appears in this movie as well. For Old Times Sake is showing at Filmhouse Cinemas.
Made In Heaven
Richard and Angela meet each other on their way to face judgement. They have both suffered from bad relationships on earth, and through a strange twist of fate, they died on the same day. When Angela is sent back to her body on earth, Richard finds a way to escape heaven and follow her back to earth. Richard’s guardian angel appears to him on earth and tells him that he must win Angela’s heart in 7 days… or else. Made In Heaven is a good option if you’re looking for something unusual and exciting to watch. It’s a different kind of love story; a fantasy adventure film with plenty of action and supernatural activity. The film was directed by Toba Mcbaror, and a few of the actors on the cast are Jide Kosoko, Nancy Isime, Blossom Chukwujekwu, and Richard Mofe-Damijo. Made in Heaven is showing at Filmhouse Cinemas and Genesis Deluxe Cinemas.
Kasanova
Femi Gbadamosi became a Lagos playboy when his wife passed away. Ms. Jessica is an independent and strong-willed music instructor. Both are single parents who meet and begin to fall in love with each other. The question is if love will work for them a second time. Watch this if you’re looking for something sweet and funny to enjoy with a close friend or a spouse. The film features Iretiola Doyle, Wale Ojo, Odunlade Adekola, Toyin Abraham, Ayo Makun, Helen Paul, and Ayo Magaji. Kasanova is showing at Filmhouse Cinemas and Genesis Deluxe Cinemas.

Ada is an entrepreneur hoping to make money in her business through social media, Emelda is constantly going out of her way to look good on social media, and Gina’s husband won’t let her post much about him on social media. The film follows the three women and their lives on and off social media. It’s a good film to watch this weekend if you want laughs all the way.
