Poem Of The Week: The Day After…

She takes another step

Slowly down the aisle she walks

Painted with white roses, violet, shades of blue

Eyes twitch, body quiver

Tear drops from dark clouds, wishing it wasn’t true

Silence so loud, heart beats

Melancholic tone

The wind lost its direction

Illusions of his presence

Another cold day in September

All dressed in black

Voices from the choir

Piono, flutes, trumpet from the military band

Bouquet of flowers, faded picture from a wooden stand

Eyes closed, knowing not the pain he left behind

Can’t see the world filled with sorrow

Left behind, she held onto a frail tomorrow

No flags will fly, but Sun will rise

Babies will be born

Time will pass

But we’ll know that you are gone.
