As the new government takes over the reins of power, it’s time to get acquainted with our new leaders and their families. Here are a few things worth knowing about the wife of the Vice President, Mrs. Oludolapo Osinbajo:
- She is the granddaughter of Chief Obafemi Awolowo. Her mother, Olubusola Soyode, who passed in 2011, was Chief Awolowo’s daughter.
- She is the author of They Call Me Mama: From the Under Bridge Diaries, which was published in 2014.
- She is the leader of the Ladies Fellowship at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Jesus Parish, Lagos.
- Along with her husband, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, she is co-founder of “The Orderly Society Trust”, a non- governmental organization dedicated to the promotion of Christian ethics and orderliness. It was founded in 2007.
- She has two shelters for battered women and victims of sexual abuse in Lagos (one on the Mainland and the other on the Island), under the auspices of Women’s Helping Hands, a non-governmental organization.
The Osinbajos are blessed with three children.
