Nigerian Hip-hop artiste, Olamide, was the winner of multiple awards at the just concluded Nigeria Entertainment Awards, held in New York, United States on September 1, 2013. The event, which has been running for eight years, awarded several other artistes in the Nigerian entertainment industry spanning across movie, music, television, radio, and comedy.
Olamide won three awards in the categories for “Best Indigenous Artiste”, “Best Album”, and “Best Collaboration”. Other winners at the event include Iyanya, who won the award in the “Hottest Single of the Year” category for his hit track, Kukere; Burna Boy – “Best New Act of the Year”; Ice Prince – “Best Rap Act of the Year”; Spellz – “Music Producer of the Year”; JJC – “Best International Artiste”.
Nollywood actress, Rita Dominic, picked up the award for “Best Lead Actress in Film”; Ali Nuhu – “Best Supporting Actor in Film”; Tunde Kelani “Best Film Director” in the movie, Maami; Nadia Buhari – “Pan African Actress”, and John Dumelo – “Pan African Actor”.
