The initiative addresses the gender disparity in STEM fields by supporting academically gifted women to excel in science and technology careers, while also positioning them as mentors for emerging African innovators.

Across Africa, women continue to be vastly underrepresented in STEM disciplines. The WAAW Foundation’s program goes beyond monetary support, aiming to develop a fresh wave of female scientists, engineers, and technology professionals who will leverage their skills to improve their communities and drive sustainable progress throughout the continent.

The Foundation has provided scholarships, mentorship, and community outreach programs to hundreds of young women in STEM since it was established, creating lasting influence on African educational and innovation systems.

Program Benefits

  • $500 one-time financial award for educational expenses including tuition, textbooks, or living costs.
  • Access to mentorship and leadership development through WAAW’s empowerment network.
  • Participation in a STEM Outreach Chapter, joining a community of women leaders advancing STEM education locally
