Founded in 2019, Bloom Africa operates as a registered nonprofit organisation dedicated to mobilising the strength and potential of African and Diasporan women and girls to generate significant positive change in their local communities and worldwide.
The 2025 Bloom Scholars initiative continues this mission by empowering African and Diasporan women and girls to become agents of transformative change in their communities and on a global scale.

Who Can Apply
Applicants for the 2025 Bloom Scholarship must meet these criteria:
- Recent female high school graduate.
- Citizens of any African nation.
- Enrolled or planning to enrol at an accredited university in Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, or South Africa during the 2025 academic year.
- Demonstrate documented financial need.
- Show strong commitment to leadership and creating social impact.
Program Benefits
The Bloom Scholars Program provides a four-year scholarship covering tuition costs (maximum $500 per year) along with comprehensive support for exceptional young women changemakers from across Africa who are entering their first year of university studies in Nigeria, South Africa, Ghana, Sierra Leone, and Kenya.

Application Materials
Applicants must prepare and submit these required documents:
- Completed application form
- Official high school academic records
- Final secondary school examination scores
- University entrance or post-secondary examination results
- Conditional or provisional university acceptance letter
- Seven short essay responses (maximum)
- Completed the recommendation form from a qualified referee
