This fellowship program provides 16 emerging climate and clean energy professionals from Global South nations with opportunities to enhance their technical expertise, expand their professional connections, and engage in dialogue with leading global experts in clean energy and climate action.

The Emerging Climate Leaders Fellowship attracts participants from diverse professional backgrounds, including government officials, business entrepreneurs, energy sector professionals, financial experts, media professionals, academic educators, research scientists, nonprofit organisation representatives, legal professionals, and policymakers.
This comprehensive program spans five months and consists of three components, operating through Yale’s International Leadership Center in collaboration with various university departments. Participants work alongside distinguished Yale professors and connect with an extensive network of industry leaders to examine critical topics within the international clean energy and climate policy landscape.

Eligibility Criteria
Professional Experience: Candidates should have five to 10 years of professional experience and show notable achievements at the regional, national, or global levels. The program seeks emerging leaders who are advancing in their careers, with no specific age restrictions.
Geographic Requirements: Participants must represent Global South regions. The program welcomes diverse representation from developing nations across Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America/Caribbean regions.
Language Proficiency: Strong English language skills are mandatory, as proficiency is crucial for meaningful program participation.

Availability Commitment: Selected fellows must commit to complete program participation, including two mandatory in-person components: the Yale Orientation (February 16-20, 2026) and the Paris conclusion (June 15-19, 2026). Additionally, fellows must engage in five virtual learning modules and contribute to a collective project from March through June 2026.
