The Liu Shiming Artist Grants 2025 program supports emerging visual artists during their first ten years of professional practice. These grants facilitate the development or completion of current projects that explore the relationship between traditional cultural or historical elements and contemporary artistic expression.

Visual artists with a minimum of two years but no more than ten years of professional experience are encouraged to apply for funding to support either existing or new projects. Recipients will be selected by a distinguished jury panel that includes the Foundation’s Curatorial Director, an established artist, and accomplished representatives from various sectors of the art community.

Award Details
The program awards up to five artists annually, with each recipient receiving a $5,000 grant. The funding is distributed in two instalments: $3,000 paid by January 15, 2026, followed by the remaining $2,000 upon successful completion of the proposed project.

Application Requirements
- International artists are welcome to apply, but all application materials and supporting documentation must be submitted in English.
- Applicants must meet one of the following criteria to qualify:
- Earned a studio arts degree between 2015 and 2023, OR
- Had their first exhibition at a gallery or juried art show between 2015 and 2023.
