The Women in Africa (WIA) Young Leaders Program is currently accepting applications for its 2025 cohort. This initiative is designed to empower and showcase emerging African women leaders who are positioned to drive transformational change across the continent. WIA Philanthropy is excited to present the fourth iteration of this program, developed in collaboration with prestigious partners including Dior, French investment bank Lazard, and leading audit and consulting firm KPMG.

Eligibility Criteria
- Age Range: 25-40 years (some flexibility may be considered based on professional experience).
- Heritage: Candidates must be of African descent – either born in Africa or have parents born on the continent
Essential Qualities:
- Multilingual capabilities (preferred).
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
- Character traits include humility, empathy, and resilience.
- Clear vision and active engagement in continental development.
- Self-driven entrepreneurial spirit.
- Capacity to assume senior-level responsibilities.

Selection Timeline
JUNE – JULY 2025: Evaluation Phase
The application review process examines candidates’ educational background, professional accomplishments, leadership capabilities, and dedication to positive social impact. The selection panel identifies exceptional candidates for the shortlist.
JULY – AUGUST 2025: Final Assessment
Selected candidates participate in comprehensive interviews with a distinguished panel of 12 international evaluators. These sessions provide opportunities for candidates to demonstrate their vision, leadership capacity, and personal development trajectory.
SEPTEMBER 2025: Results Declaration
Following the completion of evaluations, the incoming class of WIA Young Leaders receives official recognition through digital platforms and media outlets. This public celebration honours the accomplishments and future potential of these remarkable young African women while introducing them to international audiences.

November-December 2025: International Study Mission
Chosen participants in the Young Leaders Program embark on a professional journey to Paris, featuring executive networking sessions, specialised training workshops, and meetings with prominent figures from business, philanthropy, and social impact sectors. This immersive experience aims to expand their global perspective, strengthen professional connections, and provide strategic insights for career advancement.
