Africa CDC is launching its 2025 Biomanufacturing Fellowship Program, a distinguished initiative designed to develop critical competencies among professionals currently employed in Africa’s biomanufacturing sector. This program aligns with the Vaccine Research & Development and Manufacturing Competency Frameworks established by the Africa CDC.

The fellowship spans two years, offering participants comprehensive theoretical knowledge and practical experience in biomanufacturing and R&D.
Fellows will develop specialised expertise in their chosen focus area while acquiring essential skills in leadership, mentorship, management, resource planning, and entrepreneurship.
Participants maintain their current employment positions while attending periodic short courses and specialised training sessions throughout the program duration.
Eligibility Requirements
Qualified applicants must:
- Be a citizen of an African Union Member State that has an active vaccine manufacturing company.
- Hold a valid passport.
- Commit to attending both virtual and in-person training sessions.
- Obtain employer approval for training-related absences.
- Provide an employer support letter confirming program commitment.
- Possess at minimum a Master’s degree in one of these fields (or related areas):
- Pharmacy/Pharmaceutical Sciences
- Biotechnology
- Chemistry/Biochemistry
- Biochemical Engineering

Comprehensive Funding Package
Selected fellows receive full financial support, including:
