Hewlett-PackardĀ at a two-day world tour event in Beijing, officially unveiled a 21.5-inch all-in-one desktop installed with Google’s operating system.
The device, called the HP Slate 21, is built with a high-definition IPS touch screen, and installed with Android 4.2.2, according to the company’s official microblog in China.
The Slate 21 has a starting price of $399 and will launch in the U.S. in September, HP said in a statement.
It is easy to take the screen off its support, and thus switch to the tablet form and use the touch screen, transforming it into an exquisite tablet product.
In a company blog post, HP said it wanted to create an Android device that could be shared among users in a family home. āCreating a large-screened device with touch functionality, we thought we could unlock more uses,ā said HPās Eric Wiggins in the post.
