Sen Remi Tinibu and Sen Abbo
Over the course of the week, there were reactions to the manner in which Senator Remi Tinibu addressed Senator Elisha Abbo, the senator who was seen beating a woman on CCTV footage, during an ad-hoc sitting set up to investigate him. While some thought she was condescending to Sen. Abbo, others thought her approach was called for.
Senator Abbo is obviously a compulsively violent bully, but his infantilization by Remi Tinubu is intolerably insulting & unacceptable. Like Abbo, Remi was also 41 years old when she first became a senator in 2011. Did anyone denigrate her age in 2011? When did 41 become "young"?

Sen.Remi Tinubu in action. Shamelessly assaulting a colleague. How different is she from Sen.Elisha Ishaku Abbo? She is morally dirty to be a member of the c’ttee investigating the freshman senator from Adamawa. pic.twitter.com/Hb7WIxkEQr

Yes Elisha Abbo is a despicable man for his action & should be suspended/punished, but Remi Tinubu deserves to be jailed for hate crimes. This is the Landlady of Lagos mouthing about hw she hates and doesn't Igbo.

This's d same thing standing as a chairperson of a disciplinary committee? The woman that have shown madness and abuse in different occasions? What a country! She slapped a colleague hiding behind 'I'm a woman', denigrated a whole ethnic group etc. Remi Tinubu is shameless pic.twitter.com/iodLPaqqMN

Sen.Remi Tinubu spoke carelessly & arrogantly. When Sen.Abbo tried returning fire;she reminded him that she is another woman. Is she telling us that if you are a woman you have an automatic license to behave roughly & rudely to colleagues? https://t.co/RQ0WpRMjiP

Remi Tinubu is being called arrogant and condescending.

Do we realise it was a disciplinary committee not an owambe??
A Nigerian Senator beat up a nursing mother in a sex toy shop. A criminal & disgraceful offense. The Senate set up a DISCIPLINARY committee, the assaulter still showed up loud-mouthed & unremorseful in front of the Committee. But it is Remi Tinubu we are dragging. I give up.

What if Senator Elisha Abbo had slapped Senator Remi Tinubu? What if? https://t.co/J2QrFCImeo

The only problem you people have with how Sen. Remi Tinubu spoke are;
— Emmanuel Nwachukwu (@EmmaNwachukwu_) July 10, 2019
1. Sen. Remi Tinubu is a woman and she addressing a man
2. She is the only woman in the room yet the most vocal. "No respect for the men"
3. She is the wife of Bola Ahmed Tinubu
We have a long way to go
How Remi Tinubu became the villain in this Elisha Abbo thing tells you all you need to know about Misogyny in Nigeria.

The only person on the Senate Panel that was actually trying to give the violent senator a hard time is the one you all are angry at.
And you still think we don’t deserve this mess of a country, disgusting ppl
NGRSA
This week was a jubilant one for Nigerians thanks to Nigeria’s win against South Africa in the AFCON 2019 quarter-finals. With various tweets praising Samuel Chukwueze’s performance, Nigerians didn’t fail to express their happiness.
No player suffered in this game like Bafana's Mkhize. First, Musa used him to wipe the grass, then Iwobi, then Moses Simon. His chi was alive and ensured he finished the game with just a yellow😀😀#NGARSA

Pastor Chris
Video footage of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome addressing his church has been making rounds on social media. In the video, the pastor makes some comments about marriage which has stirred controversy on social media. According to him,
“When you marry a man, you come under his authority. A man loves the one he serves and the one that serves him, but he fights the one that is equal with him.”

Pastor Chris is…
Saying the Husband is the Master…
Makes the whole concept of Marriage a Master-Slave/Servant relationship.
Marriage is a more complex version of a business partnership…with Husband and Wife as major Shareholders.
I don’t understand this controversy over what Pastor Chris Oyakhilome said. It is scriptural. Man was created for God. The woman was created for the man, as a helper. It might annoy you, but truth is often annoying. Truth is not politically correct #FreeLeahSharibu #RenosNuggets
