Nigerian Elections Postponed
Last week, the Nigerian elections which were scheduled for February 16 were unexpectedly canceled at the last minute. The postponement of the elections proved quite overwhelming for many Nigerians who took to social media to express their sentiments about the turnout of events. The elections have however now been scheduled for February 23 and Nigerians are in earnest preparation.
Nigerians Not Happy About Turnout Of Events
I flew in for this elections.

Booked my return flight for monday.
What do I do now?
Wait till Next weekend?
Who will see my patients?

Nigerians living abroad contribute significantly to the Nigerian economy. $22billion in remittances in one year is no joke.
NASS/FG, FIX IT.
The Buhari administration has had more than enough time and money to prepare for these elections and the Nigerian people were poised and ready to perform their civic responsibility by voting in the elections earlier scheduled for Saturday, 16 February, 2019.

Like 2 toddlers fighting for the same toy, we still need Europeans and Americans to come supervise the signing of peace accord during Nigerian elections. Then, we postpone elections. One day, we will stand on our own (two) feet. #nigeriadecides2019

Shifting elections at midnight when people have travelled just to vote. The Nigerian government really proves how much it hates it’s citizens everyday 🤕

Amina Zakari Considered To Replace Magmood Yakubu As INEC Chairman
Incoming reports suggest there's a plan to sack the INEC Chairman because he won't accept APC’s proposal to have staggered elections.
— Gene Grey (@EuginhoCortez) February 16, 2019
Staggered Elections will enable the type of RIGGING we saw in Osun State.
Amina Zakari is to take over.
She is Buhari's RELATIVE!
God Forbid!
There’s a real and extremely audacious plot by the APC-formed FG to have Prof. Mahmud Yakubu removed as INEC Chairman by suspension from office to pave way for Amina Zakari to take over, as done to CJN Onnoghen.
— 'Demola Olarewaju (@DemolaRewaju) February 16, 2019
The excuse this time will be the postponement of elections by INEC.
Amina Zakari is not the reason why the elections were postponed.
— Dr Joe Abah, OON (@DrJoeAbah) February 16, 2019
Amina Zakari is not the Chair of the INEC Logistics Committee.
Amina Zakari is a public servant doing her best to serve her country.
Amina Zakari is someone’s wife, mother and sister.
Leave Amina Zakari alone!
APC has now become super-desperate, on a level never before seen in Nigeria.
— 'Demola Olarewaju (@DemolaRewaju) February 16, 2019
The plan is to capitalise on our collective outrage to implement a suspension of Yakubu Mahmood and bring in Amina Zakari, Buhari’s relative, as Acting Chairperson to conduct the 2019 elections.
Let me warn President @MBuhari not to push Nigerians to the wall by sacking the @INECNigeria boss and replacing him with his niece by marriage, Amina Zakari. If he must sack Professor Mahmood, Buhari must not replaced him with Amina.

She was replaced at PDP's insistence.@inecnigeria's website has not be updated to reflect this.
Whether or not that is a mistake or a deliberate act is unclear.
But PDP is riding on the error.

Bros, we take your lies no more.. Your sister Amina Zakari is the chairman of the INEC Logistics team. This was planned by you and your party APC. #NigeriaDecides2019 will hold and no postponement will stop us from sending you back home. DELAY is not DENIAL.

Atiku Pledges To Privatise NNPC If Elected
Nigerian presidential aspirant Atiku Abubakar has pledged to privatise Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) which he branded as a “mafia organisation”. In his words, “I am committed to these privatisations, as I have said. I swear even if they are going to kill me, I will do it”. He also made reference to his previous attempt to end the NNPC when he was vice-president under Olusegun Obasanjo from 1999 to 2007.
Vote for Atiku Abubakar.

He will privatise NNPC so it will live to its full potential. #AtikuOurPresident https://t.co/t5BPEvGujS
So Buhari is some special "prophet sent by God to make Nigeria poor" and "it is our religious duty to remain poor, as Buhari was sent to accomplish this purpose".
— Onye Nkuzi (@cchukudebelu) February 21, 2019
This is cynical nonsense, promoted by those who benefit from dual exchange rates & the opacity at NNPC.
ANNOUNCEMENT!
— CBN Gov Akinsola Akin🇳🇬 (@cbngov_akin1) February 21, 2019
If you work in NNPC, have relations that work in NNPC, and you depend on them for survival or better still you don't want them to become sudden pensioners that would suffer same fate Ex-NITEL staffs suffered before PMB paid their pensions
Get your PVC.
VOTE PMB!
