The long awaited 2014 world cup finals is just less than a month to kick off. Nations who will be participating are already gearing up for what many have tipped to be the best world cup ever.
Nigeria is not left out of it as the Chief coach of the super Eagles have released a 30 man provisional list which will eventually be reduced to 23 on 3rd of June.
Among all the invited players, the biggest names are arguably Jon Obi Mikel and Victor Moses.
Ironically, the duo have not been in the best of form for their club sides this season but coming into the national team, they are bound to take up crucial responsibilities on the pitch.
Here are five ways they can spur Eagles to glory in Brazil.
*Moses Trickery
This season will arguably go down as one of Moses worst seasons, but his pace, strength and trickery can not be overemphasised. In the last African cup of nations, Moses was crucial and he is bound to show the world how dangerous he can be on the ball. Keshi is very aware of this, it explains Moses' inclusion in the World Cup squad even when he vowed to only invite players who are currently in form.
*Mikel's Organisational play
If there is ever a player in world football who has the ability to instill calm and organisation in the midfield, Mikel's name will definitely turn up. John Mikel Obi has held his own in a Chelsea midfield for over seven years. But like Moses, this season will be one he would like to forget in a rush, due to his lack of regular playing time. Mikel has seen his position taken by Nemanja Matic who I dare to say will hold his own in any team in the world. Irrespective of his current predicaments, his stand out performance against Athletico Madrid gives Nigeria hope that he will definitely be ready when the World Cup takes off in Brazil.
*Confidence
At a big stage like the world cup, what wins matches is the experience and confidence shown by top players when playing at the top. The duo will be bringing that to the super Eagles and other players like Emmanuel Emenike will definitely be Energized for the mundial.
*Fresh Legs
Its no news that Victor Moses and John Obi Mikel have lacked playing time for their club side. Even though Keshi will want to see all his players playing regular football, these two will bring a freshness to the Super Eagles, and that can be the difference between our team and the others.
*Keshi's loyalty
We need not forget that in this business, loyalty helps, and that loyalty kept Keshi's faith in the duo. One can't forget that these two where crucial in the last nations cup victory in South Africa. Keeping the group together will among other things form a stronger bond among the players.
