Take Advantage Of Stopovers

Flying with a transit stopover or travelling by road with routine breaks is a great chance to get up and stretch your legs. Don’t just go to the loo and hop back in the vehicle, use the opportunity to walk around. Don’t stand around or stay seated till the stopover allotted time is up, take a walk and exercise those legs.

At Your Destination

You need not have access to a gym or travel with workout equipment to help you stay physically active when you arrive at your destination. There are a few things you can do to help you stay active when you arrive at your destination.

Make Use Of Your Environment

You can walk around the estate or the compound of the hotel you are living in during your stay. If there is a staircase in your building, take a walk up and down the stairs. When you have sat down for hours watching TV, get up and jog on the spot for a few minutes. Shake your legs, get up and sit back down repeatedly for a few minutes before going back to sitting still again. If you need to get something from a store or supermarket, go yourself don’t send someone. Spend more time walking than using vehicles.

Spice Up Your Vacation with Outdoor Activities

Plan an outdoor recreational activity that will keep you active like hiking, swimming, rock climbing, kayaking, dancing, etc. You don’t have to do it every day, but if you do one outdoor activity in two days, your body will thank you for it.

Use Workout Videos From The Internet

Travelling light means there might be no space for weights and dumbbells in your luggage. So if you must carry workout tools, might we suggest a resistance band, skipping rope or yoga mat. They are light, easy to pack and good constant reminders that you need to work out. Also, they help you with strengthening and cardio workouts. You can also throw in a few HIIT workouts which do not require the use of any equipment. The internet is full of easy routines you can do to stay in shape without equipment. But if you are staying at a hotel with access to a gym, by all means, take advantage of it during your stay. So the next time you want to go on a vacation, include plans to stay active during your journey and when you arrive at your destination. It will keep you fit and healthy after your trip.
