Don’t let the fear of having troubles with online booking and check-ins. When you check-in online, it reduces the time you have to spend in the queue waiting to enter your gate. You can check-in online even if you are not physically at the airport. But your check-in online has to be approximately 24hours before your flight. Just make sure you also have a printed copy of your boarding pass before approaching your boarding gate.
If you paid for business class or first class tickets, you are entitled to make use of the airport lounge. If there is a massage chair in the lounge, don’t be shy, use it. Relax in it and let it ease the travelling stress from your fatigued body. If there is a beauty segment in the lounge, feel free to use the expensive cream there to soothe your skin. You can go to the toilets to do the rubbing if you feel a bit embarrassed using the cream in public. Make sure you rub your elbows, knees and feet.
- Keep a Toothbrush in Your Hand Luggage
Some international flights are extremely long e.g. Nigeria to Jamaica. Chances are that you will sleep during the flight. But you don’t have to arrive at your destination with bad breathe. When you keep a travel toothbrush and toothpaste in your hand luggage, you can go to the toilet and brush your mouth after hours of sleeping and eating.

You can even take an electronic brush with you as long as it is in your hand luggage. This tip is also useful if your luggage gets lost in transit or your layover requires sleeping at the airport due to no transit visa to enter the country you are transiting through.
- Don’t wear lace-up shoes to the airport
Do you know where you queue up to get your bags and person screened at the airport before going to the boarding area? It’s the point where you pull off your jewellery and walk through a scanner. Yeah, at that point, if you wear a lace-up shoe, you could be in for some stress.
You never know when the airport security might decide to frisk you and ask you to take off your shoes for a security check. Wearing a slip-on shoe will make that process a little less embarrassing for you and save time for others on the line.
There are many airport hacks recommended for both local and international travel. These are just the tip of the iceberg. Feel free to tell us the ones you use when travelling through an airport.
