Packaging your products should not be taken lightly. It is the extra thing(s) you add to a product, it is not the product itself. Packaging influences customers’ decisions when purchasing any product or item. You can make your package as memorable as your product. In this article, three easy but efficient methods will be explained on how to package your clothes for sale.
  1. Tags and Labels
Tags and labels on clothing may seem like irrelevant or minor things on clothes but they are not. Some designers think their customers don’t notice or pay attention to clothing tags and labels irrespective of the design. This assertion is not true. In the fashion industry, every detail matters. Your customers pay attention to everything. Your customers will want to touch the clothes and examine every detail, like sizing, the type of fabric used, etc. Tags and labels contain all those details. Your brand name, sizing, type of fabric, and everything there is to know about your clothes in a glance. Tags and labels are a good way of packaging your product. It gives your clothing a more elevated outlook, and they are easily affordable to make.
  1. Shopping Bags
Either you run an offline or online store. Your customers will always need something to carry what they bought. It is not a good entrepreneurship spirit to see your customers struggling with how to carry their purchases. You can use customized shopping bags. Customized bags have your brand information on them and they can be a means of advertising your products. In Nigeria, when you make customized bags in large quantities, it costs less. If you don’t have a customized shopping bag for your brand, it is fine. Just make sure you have a shopping bag for your customers. Your shopping bags can be made of nylon, paper, leather, plastic, etc. It should be durable. It should be able to accommodate the weight of the clothes without tearing or falling apart.

  1. Ironing
Ironing your clothes before selling them is a great way to package them. It is not a good look at your brand if the clothes you give to your customers are rumpled and look like you just pulled it out of a rat hole. Ironing is easy, it doesn’t take a lot of expertise to do. You can use any type of iron, as long as it gets the work done.  As a small business owner, who is trying to do almost everything and you don’t know how to iron, you can learn online or ask a friend or family member to teach you. Ironing makes your clothes neat and presentable. After ironing, you can put your clothes in transparent nylon and seal them, to prevent the clothes from being stained or rumpled. The transparent nylon is sold in both online and offline stores in Nigeria. It is very affordable. If you own a physical store and you hang your clothes, you can iron and hang them neatly. Be creative as much as you know when packaging your products. It leaves a long-lasting impression on your brand.  After applying these tips to your brand, watch how your customers begin to appreciate your brand more and how your sales will increase.
