The Nigerian child is exposed to a well of unhealthy information via television stations, print media, and the internet. It is nearly impossible to know what today’s digital child watches or even reads when no adult is in sight.
234GO!
Seeing the great need to filter and improve the Nigerian child’s content space, 234GO! — a kids only magazine — released its first series of publications in October 2018.
234GO! is a magazine stocked with educative and entertaining content for kids from ages three to ten. Created with the digitally inclined child in mind, the publishers put first the need for an interactive learning session between parents and kids, hence the content structure of the magazine.
In an interview with Connect Nigeria, the publisher, 234GO!, Woghiren Christopher, spoke on the current drift into the technological era and the rising need to teach our kids what to watch/read and what to avoid.
Woghiren also discussed a few challenges the startup has been facing, including low reception from parents, and capital constraints — which impedes the circulation of the magazine.
Being a new product, many parents and guardians are yet to understand its scope and importance. However, the publication has so far taken good steps to gain the trust of its potential customers.
Responding to a question about the future plans of the startup, Woghiren said the company plans to expand into educative children applications, children animations, events and TV/Radio shows.
The magazines are available in four editions for different ages.
Edition A (Age 3-4)
Edition B (Age 5-6)
Edition C (Age 7-8)
Edition D (Age 9-10)
