The qualifiers set to hold between Wednesday, February 17, 2021, and Sunday, February 21, 2021, will see D’Tigers slog it out with South Sudan, Mali, and hosts of the 2021 Afrobasket, Rwanda. Nigeria top Group B of the qualifiers comfortably after beating Rwanda, Mali, and South Sudan in the previous fixtures and will be looking forward to extending their dominance in Monastir, Tunisia for this phase of qualifiers. Coach Mike Brown will be absent for the games due to duties abroad and will be replaced by Mfon Udofia. Team captain, Ike Diogu, leads the pack alongside Ike Iroegbu who was outstanding during the last phase of qualifiers with an average of 15.7 points per game. The trio of Nwachukwu Moneke, Ifeoluwa Ajayi, and Said Hearst-Okpalannaka are likely to make their debut for the team after being handed invitations for the outing.

2017 Afrobasket silver medal winner, Ike Nwamu, returns to the squad alongside Spain-based shooting guard, Obinna Emegano who plies his trade with Fuenlabrada, and Ben Uzoh.
