The Golden Eaglets will aim to wrap up their group stage fixtures at the ongoing 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup in a perfect style when they confront the Australian national U-17 side in Brasilia today, November 1, 2019, for their last Group B match at the Estadio Bezerrão.

A 4-2 win over Hungary in their first game on October 26, 2019, followed by a hard-fought 3-2 victory against Ecuador in their second group game on Tuesday, October 29, meant the Golden Eaglets has maintained a 100% winning record in the global showpiece, topping Group B, and also qualified for the Second Round of 16 with a game to spare.

Coach Manu Garba is expected to rest some of the key members of the squad in today’s tie to give others a taste of the action in the competition. Despite having nothing to loose, the boys will be looking to secure all three points against an Australian team that will be guaranteed a spot in the knockout round with a win over the Eaglets after loosing 2-1 in their first game against Ecuador, before forcing Hungary to a 2-2 draw in their second game. The game is scheduled to start by 9pm WAT.
