2015 Nigeria Prize For Literature Receives 109 Submissions

According to ThisDay Newspaper, a total of 109 authors have submitted entries for NLNG’s 2015 Nigeria Prize for Literature.

The award is deemed to be Africa’s most prestigious literary award due to its uncompromising insistence on excellence. Its first edition took place in 2004.

Submissions fall under four literary categories which include prose fiction, poetry, drama and children’s literature. However, Children’s Literature is this year’s primary focus.

A cash prize of $100,000 is set to be won by the winning author.

Approximately 124 entries were received in 2014 with Professor Sam Ukala emerging as the winner for his successful screenplay entry, Iredi’s War.
