Mokalik
If you have not been following our weekly “Movies To Watch This Weekend” articles, then you would have missed so many great Nigerian films that have shown in cinemas near you!
There are links to our newest movie recommendations below, so you do not miss out entirely. Movies like “Gold Statue”, “Makate Must Sell”, “Cold Feet“, “Delivery Boy” and “Street Kid” are still showing in most cinemas.
However, unlike previous weeks, there is just one new movie in cinemas this weekend, the long awaited Kunle Afolayan movie, “Mokalik”
The film, which we first wrote about in August 2018, is an enthrallingcomedy drama. Going by “The Figurine” and “October 1” from the same director, it would be safe to conclude that “Mokalik” will be worthwhile.
Synopsis
“Mokalik” is the story of Jaiye, an 11 year old boy who is sent to work at the “garage” by his parents, following his failure in the School Leaving Examinations. The experience was meant to give him a different perspective on life but instead leaves him in a dilemma as he is torn between continuing with the newfound vocation with which he had fallen in love, or return to school.
The multiple-award winning filmmaker brings his expertise to play in the movie production, as well as in his cast selection. The film stars Ayo Adesanya, Simi, Charles Okocha, Fathia Balogun and Femi Adebayo.
Mokalik premieres today, 31st May 2019 in cinemas all over the country.
