Nnamdi Okonkwo Appointed Fidelity Bank CEO; Takes Over from Reginald Ihejahi

Fidelity Bank has appointed a new chief executive officer/managing director, Mr. Nnamdi Okonkwo. The new CEO, who comes with 24 years experience in the banking industry, takes over from Mr. Reginald Ihejahi.
Ihejahi served as the bank’s CEO for eight years before handing over the reins to Okonkwo. The Central Bank of Nigeria stipulates a maximum tenure of eight years dual tenure for bank chief executives.
With the appointment, Okonkwo has become the third chief executive of Fidelity Bank. Prior to his appointment, he served as the bank’s Executive Director for the South Directorate. He has vast experience spanning various banking areas including domestic operations, corporate finance, corporate banking, retail banking, commercial and consumer banking. He had previously worked in the United Bank for Africa (UBA) where he peaked as the organisation’s MD/CEO in Ghana.
