Often time we ask the question “How do I let go? How do I move on?
But I think the first question should be “how do I forgive? What is ‘Forgiveness? How do you get to that place, where you learn to forgive others for continuously hurting you? How do you learn to forgive yourself for making those seemingly wrong choices and allowing others to continue to hurt you? Forgiveness is not only the beginning of true healing, it is the first step required to actually moving forward. It is very important to understand that everything you have gone through and will still go through is preparing you for “Your Place”.
Unforgiveness is like baggage, only this time it is an unwanted one and all it does is weigh you down, thereby slowing down your movement and causing you to either get to your destination late or not even get there at all. You can choose to offload the baggage and allow yourself be healed.
When we choose to forgive or hold on to past hurts, it affects us ultimately. Because forgiveness is for you… it frees you and gives you clearer sight of your destination. There is this popular saying that ‘whatever doesn’t kill you will only make you stronger’, it is actually true. You can decide to forgive, heal and move forward or you can decide to be unforgiving, bitter and get lower than you already are. So you’ve been hurt over and over again, but God’s love for you is overwhelming and it supersedes every hurt and brokenness. Despite our unfaithfulness, Christ forgives us over and over again; I believe it is one of the greatest lessons in life. God’s love is so amazing, sees beyond our filth and chooses us regardless of what we’ve done, where we’ve been. It is important that you see yourself in the light of God’s eye, because then alone will you begin to understand how perfect a person you are.
I know it may be hard to believe it, but God will never give you more than you can handle. It means for everything you have been through and will still go through, you are more than able to handle it. God has already provided everything you need to face every challenge, trial and hurt…He has given you the grace, the strength, the wisdom and the anointing to rise through it “Triumphantly”.
The blessings that God gives, no man can take it away. God is not like man; He is omnipotent and has the power to make everything work out for your good.
Be encouraged, let go of the hurt and the pain. Forgive yourself, forgive others. Let it go, let the baggage go and give yourself the chance to breathe again, trust again and love again. Let the blessing and beauty of God engulf you. And never forget, “You are the best as you are”.
