- Wash your face: Do this twice a day: once after you wake and once before sleep. This would help remove the dirt as well as oil from your skin. It should be a cool and gentle wash. Do not scrub too hard.
- Moisturize: Moisturizing prevents dryness or redness-if you are light-skinned. It also tricks your skin into believing that it is already oiled. Oiling especially when too much can clog your pores thus causing acne in the process.
- Exfoliate: Exfoliating removes the oil and dirt that regular cleansers do not remove and it also removes dead skin. This is best done if you are clean-shaven. You are advised to do this twice a week as exfoliating is not so healthy for frequent use. Use moisturizer after this, too.

- Drink water: Take a lot of water. Water cleanses you from the inside taking with it the toxins and bacteria that cause dirt and oil on your skin. So you are washing your face but from the inside, this time. It also keeps your skin from getting dry hence helping keep away oily skin and acne eventually.
- Eat healthily: Stay away from too many fatty foods which carry a lot of oil that causes acne. Diet has a way of reflecting on your skin.
