The Nasiru El-Rufai led government also disclosed that effective from October 31, civil servants will be required to provide proof of vaccination before they are permitted entrance into their offices. Further, the state government also mandated citizens who intend to visit public offices to ensure they are vaccinated or show evidence of registration with the state’s health ministry for purpose of vaccination, alongside wearing a face mask, else they would just like the civil servants not be allowed entrance into government offices.

The order of the Kaduna state government was made public through a statement signed and issued by Governor El-Rufai’s special adviser on media and communication Muyiwa Adekeye, on Tuesday, October 19, 2021. The statement reads:
“The commencement of vaccinations against COVID-19 is the most significant development in the public health space since the virus began its tragic worldwide spread. Thus far, only a minority of Nigerians have been vaccinated against COVID-19 because of supply issues. The Kaduna State Government will from 31st October 2021 require compliance with Covid-19 protocols, especially facemasks and vaccination, for access to its offices. The Ministry of Health has since commenced the vaccination of all civil servants, and this is expected to be completed by 31st October 2021. All civil servants are required to be vaccinated by that date.’’Residents of the northern Nigerian state were advised by the government to register for vaccination at primary health centres nearest to them.
