Today, the company has a client base that includes private sector organizations and public sector agencies. Agbim is currently its Group Chief Executive Officer.
Interkel’s service covers the entire construction lifecycle, from pre-project planning to post-construction support. It builds residential, commercial, industrial, and specialized spaces, and develops a wide variety of property types. It has done this for banks, telecom companies, hospitals, religious organizations, and NGOs.
The structures that Interkel builds include housing estates, corporate offices, logistics hubs, warehouses, and storage facilities. In the time since it got involved in construction work, Interkel has successfully completed more than eighty building projects.
Businesses in the telecoms space are familiar with Interkel’s work. It has delivered projects for some of the country’s telecommunications services providers. And it works with telecoms infrastructure companies as well. It installs and commissions wireless technologies, and upgrades its clients’ network infrastructure.
Interkel designs and executes diverse IT and engineering projects. It has constructed data centres, implemented routed fibre optic cables to thousands of homes, and fashioned renewable energy projects in Northern Nigeria. It maintains Base Transceiver Stations (BTS), optical Fibre Outside Plant (OSP), and renewable energy grids. This aspect of its operations has been in place since 2007.
Over the years, Interkel has accomplished several notable feats. In 2010, it became the first company in Nigeria to construct an undersea cable landing station. It’s also the first to install a SON transmitter station (it did this in 2012). Closer to the present time, it was the first company in Africa to construct a multi-level modular data centre (2018).
Away from its core business operations, Interkel has been involved in a number of CSR projects. According to the company’s team, it has provided more than 500 computers and devices for IT labs in several dozen schools.
