WOWe: Building And Empowering Women Entrepreneurs

Nigeria is one of the countries in Africa with a very high record of female entrepreneurs. Last week, Lagos witnessed the largest gathering of women entrepreneurs and business leaders from the 20th to the 21st of June 2013.

Women Of West Africa Entrepreneurs entrepreneurship conference (WOWe) took the centre stage at the prestigious Eko Hotel and Suites and the WheatBaker Hotel. Speakers such as Hajiya Zainab Maina, (Minister of Women Affairs & Social Development Nigeria), Mo Abudu, (Executive Producer & Host – Moments with Mo), Chris Bishop, (Managing Editor, Forbes Africa) and Magatte Wade, (CEO TIOSSAN, Senegal, USA) amongst many others, addressed critical issues that affect the average female entrepreneur in Africa.

Roadmap To Excellence In Entrepreneurship: Sefi Atta, (Author and Publisher, Everything Good Will Come), Deji Fisho, (Executive Vice Chairman, XS Energy), Aisha Maina, (CEO and Founder, Aquarian Consult), and Anulika Joy Eze-Iloakasia, (CEO, Hair Glamour Int’l) shared their stories on how they have managed their businesses and how you can:- Operating in a global market: The world as we know it has become a global village. Elohor Aisien, (MD, Beth Model Africa), Afua Dabanka, (CEO and Creative Director, MO SAIQUE, UK and Ghana), Lisa Folawiyo, (CEO and Creative Director, Jewel by Lisa), Magatte Wade, (Founder and CEO, TIOSSAN, Senegal, USA) taught on how to operate in this global market, and they shared strategies and techniques on:
