Tuesdays are less gruelling and it has been found that more productive work gets done on this day. There is a common misconception in the minds of employers and employees that Mondays are the most productive days at work. However, a survey proves that I, together with 400-control groups, agree that Tuesdays are also their most productive days. In addition to being the most productive day of the week, Tuesdays are also the peak of energy and efficiency. This is because people spend the bulk of their Mondays decompressing from the thrill of the weekend, getting their energy up for the workweek and finally, drawing out a To-do list for the rest of the week. Going by that, it means that employees enter the next day, which is Tuesday, with much gusto and energy for the entire week. In that state, however, the peak time for productivity is 2:30 pm after which, things tend to drag out. As expected, when employees churn out such energies on Tuesday, the depletion starts to show up as early as Wednesday. The best way to retain and replicate the energies of Tuesday to the rest of the week is to plan on a Sunday. Planning for the week before the week allows one to maximize the workweek efficiently.

When the energy depletes on a Wednesday, you already have done all the corporate hard lifting on a Monday and Tuesday. In planning for the week, it is pertinent to put the difficult and important tasks first at the forefront because you will have more energy available to push you through the initial mental bloc. When you have used Tuesdays to achieve the hardcore workload, the rest can be done at pace during the rest of the weekdays. Most people say that for them to be efficient on other days of the week, they have realised that there is a need to minimise distraction. The Chief Butler of distraction is social media and one of the best ways to avoid the inefficiency that comes along with it is to turn on the “do not disturb” feature. This feature limits app notifications and any other customised blocks you might require. It is also advisable to switch off smartphones and put them away from easy reach vicinity. This reduces the reflex check of what is going on. This does not only apply to tech gadgets, it also applies to co-workers and other people. To better harness the efficiency of Tuesdays, it is best to inform your co-workers that you need a “do not disturb” zone to function optimally. With all the planning happening on Monday and the actual execution-taking place on Tuesdays, Tuesdays are the new Mondays! Considering this, it would be wise to visit most corporate facilities on a Monday when other visitors would be at their own place of work trying to tidy things up for the workweek to avoid the queues. Who knows, we might not be totally accurate, so, let us know in the comments section what the most productive day of the week is for you. Featured Image Source: Parade
