Wizkid
Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun popular with the stage name Wizkid tops our list of Nigerian entertainers in 2021. Wizkid’s ‘Essence’ track featuring Tems, the 11th song off his 14-track Made in Lagos 2020 album became a global hit in 2020 and had A-list American artist Justin Bieber jump on a remix of the song. Wizkid’s Made in Lagos album tour sold out venues such as the O2 Arena in London. The album would go on to earn him a Grammy nomination for the Best Global Music Album, while the ‘Essence’ track earned him another Grammy nomination for the Best Global Music Performance. Wizkid was also a recipient of numerous awards such as the Mobo Awards and was named the Apple Music African Artist of the Year, among others.Ckay

Over time, Davido has established himself as one of the leading African acts on the global scene. Collaborations such as ‘Ke Star’ with South Africa’s Focalistic and ‘High’ with Adekunle Gold were some features the superstar musician lent his voice to in 2021. However, Davido in a display of charity during the week of his 29th birthday celebration donated the sum of 251 million Naira to orphanages across Nigeria, an act that could be described as one of the greatest charity moves of all time in the Nigerian entertainment industry.Femi Kuti
