MTN Mobile Money (MoMo) is a FinTech platform that offers its users access to a range of digital financial services, including payments, lending, remittance and insurance. Through the MoMo API program, MTN has made its Mobile Money platform accessible to developers and entrepreneurs in Africa. The hackathon builds on this and presents talented teams on the continent with the chance to leverage the MoMo API platform to create brilliant applications that drive financial inclusion.

Eligibility
The MTN MoMo API Hackathon is open to parties that meet these conditions:- Be a team with not more than 4 members
- Must submit a hackathon theme that is in line with one of those identified by the competition’s organizers
- Have an idea that is truly innovative; ideas copied from existing solutions will be disqualified
- The hack should be fully developed for the duration of the competition (participants can use open-source libraries and other freely available services like Twitter Feeds, Google Maps, Facebook Connect, etc.)
- Agree to the organizers’ terms and conditions
