I remember a friend of mine telling me about someone who wore mismatched shirt, tie and suit referring to the mix up as “colour blocking”. I can also recall laughing so hard about it yet asking myself if i knew any better.  On researching about this and with some little experience I learnt that you can’t just slap any combination of shirt and tie together. With help from male friends, I got to understand that the biggest problem men have is buying ties that don’t match the clothes they already have. Hence, matching ties and shirt is like fitting a square peg in a round hole. In order to match your ties and shirt you should own neckwears that complement your wardrobe; meaning you should be matching your tie to your shirt not the other way round. While purchasing a tie, your aim should be a tie proportional to your body and to a colour and pattern that works well with your shirts and suits, NOT because it looks great. Note that your tie reflects your personality thus becoming a jewel to your shirt and suit. Therefore, select your tie based on how your feel on that day, who you’d be seeing and the impression you are intending to make. Some other tips are: –          Think of your shirt as your canvass, paint your picture with your suit and tie. –          Trust yourself and your choices. –          Match your jewel accessories to the hue of your clothing. –          Unless going for a “Soprano” look, your tie colour should be darker than your shirt. Now you can rev up your appearance giving it attitude and men’s flair
