Tecno is off to a good start this new year and has just launched its first phone for the year, the Tecno Camon CM. Apparently, Tecno has joined the bezel-less display gang (pioneered by Samsung) as the phone ships without side bezels, but still maintains little top and bottom bezels. The codename CM is said to stand for C (see) More, which means you’d get to enjoy consuming multimedia content on this device.
The Tecno Camon CM display is a 5.65” HD IPS unit with 1440 x 720p resolution and 2.5D Corning gorilla glass lacing for protection. The device also has a Quad-core 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6737 SoC plus 2GB RAM and 16GB of Internal storage upgradeable via MicroSD expansion. The fingerprint sensor and primary camera are housed behind the phone. The primary and front-facing camera are both 13MP with a quad flash behind. The 13MP front camera is said to deliver exceptional HDR portrait shots and clearer night time shots with reduced noise.
A dual Micro SIM port is onboard with 4GLTE support. Device ships with Android 7.0 Nougat (possibly upgradeable to 8.1 Oreo) with HiOS skin on top. Battery caps out at about 3050mAH, and yes, there’s a 3.5mm headphone jack. They also advertised an advanced split-screen multitasking feature.
The Tecno Camon CM is available in 3 colours- City blue, Midnight Black and Champagne Gold. The device is priced at N47000. A pretty cool price.
You can preorder the device between the 10th and 14th of January, while sales begin on the 15th of January. The device will be sold exclusively at selected 3C Hubs outlets across the country.
If you looking to get a new phone this year, maybe this is a good option.
